I purchased my Mariner sans water tanks. I contacted Florida Marine Tanks and they said that they didn’t have the dimensions and the price would be outrageous for them to design and fabricate.
Has anyone had experience with using a bladder type tank or should I keep shopping for a rigid tank? I plan on using the original location.

  • My 1983 M36 had been fitted with bladders on both sides by a previous owner but they were pretty torn up.  Rather than going back to a hard tank cleaned up both compartments and added partial bulkheads on either end to help keep everything in place and permanently installed a cut down cargo net to help with the chafing.  I've been running a 50gal Plastimo bladder on the port side for two years now with no issues.  The starboard side I use for storage so haven't installed a bladder.  The only two downsides are the bladder will push against the underside of the setee when completely which can make the berth expansion board bind up.  Not a major problem. And, naturally, I can't put a level sensor on the freshwater.  Unless anyone has a clever solution I haven't thought of yet.13695773061?profile=RESIZE_930x13695773055?profile=RESIZE_930x

  • Tank model # (taken from stbd side tank) is 'FMT 52 MYC'. MFG date 12/79.
  • Do you have a Mariner 36?  A few years ago I inquired about getting replacement tanks.  I gave them the tank # off of my old tanks and they said they could make them for me.  I think they quoted around $750/ea if i remember correctly.  If you have a 36 I will be at the boat this weekend and can try and get tank #'s.
